Our client is a leading UK practice and is one of the largest multi-disciplinary consultancies operating in the Middle East. They have provided environmental services in the Middle East for over 20 years and have a regional Environment and Sustainability Team that provides high-end services to major government and private organisations. Demand for their services has continued to grow, with sustainable development becoming more prevalent in the region. They are now seeking a high calibre, fully proficient and capable candidate to manage projects for a wide range of clients and services and develop further business on behalf of the Group. The role is based in their Bahrain office, serving their Bahraini and Saudi clients. The successful candidate will be an excellent team worker with the ability to deliver work to the highest standards in a demanding client-facing role. They will project manage environmental services for high-profile projects including government and corporate strategies and reporting, natural resource management, due diligence and lender advice, impact assessment, and inputs to infrastructure planning and urban development. The candidate shall be expected to be able to lead environmental projects as well as be effective as part of wider multidisciplinary teams.The candidate shall have excellent business development capabilities and shall be especially proficient in both leading and supporting presentations for delivery to Clients and at conferences. The candidate will be expected to support and mentor junior staff, drawing on these staff to deliver projects. Skills and Qualifications: A degree in an environmental or relevant engineering subjectSignificant experience in sustainability consultancy, as applied to delivery of corporate strategies and reports, and guiding the design of exemplary buildings, infrastructure, urban realm and masterplanning. Experience in the Middle East, particularly in client-facing roles, and an in-depth understanding of sustainability in arid environments.Accreditation and practical experience of Estidama, LEED, BREEAM, CEEQUAL, GreenStar or equivalent rating system would be an advantage. Exposure to a broad range of projects covering infrastructure, transportation, marine and/or mixed-use developments.Full membership of a recognised environmental professional body an advantageHigh standards of written and verbal communication in English; Arabic language skills would be an advantageAbility to produce high quality, attractive reports and documentsA track record of sound project and financial management A flexible approach to work, and good interpersonal and team working skillsCandidates already based in Middle East would be at an advantageFull clean driver's licenceWe are experiencing an unprecedented volume of interest for Middle East posts and on occasions are unable to respond individually to every application.
