Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Inverters), based in Madrid
Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Supplier Quality Manager, this position will establish and deploy strategic initiatives to achieve world class quality and reliability standards across all inverter suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Will be responsible for inverter and monitoring product quality and reliability including both electrical (hardware and software) and mechanical hardware. The ideal candidate will have solid quality and reliability experience with emphasis on power electronics and failure analysis from the system level to component level (including electrical assemblies and PCBAs). Software/Hardware interaction reliability is a plus. Primary responsibilities include actively working with suppliers to drive improvements in quality and reliability by utilizing the available Supplier quality tools such as trend analysis, failure Pareto, supplier audits on process maturity and prevention methodology and owning supplier scorecard development, review and publication. Candidate must possess experience in component level reliability, along with general electronics hardware and mechanical knowledge and systems level design analysis and troubleshooting. In addition, we are seeking someone who has specific and hands on experience in development of power electronic products for commercial and/or consumer applications.
Principle Duties
•Develop, implement and maintain Quality and Reliability test program for Inverters products •Review OEM supplier production test reports, On-going reliability test data, customer returns and failure analysis data with Suppliers •Monitor, Review and Recommend improvements to supplier programs for quality and reliability of the products •Assess and qualify new suppliers and new products •Develop, Manage and Drive suppliers based on performance •Develop, implement and track Inverter scorecard and dashboard across inverter types and suppliers * 40% Travel
Related Experience and Educational Requirements
Minimum requirements •Degree in Engineering •Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Reliability, preferably in power electronics (inverter design/manufacturing or semiconductor) •Problem analysis/problem resolution experience is a must •Fluent English
Preferred requirements •MS degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering preferred •ASQ Reliability Engineer certification a plus Quality Systems Auditor with ISO 9001 framework •Other European languages a plus, the most relevant being German and Spanish
