Senior Researcher - Arboriculture

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Officer to undertake research projects in tropical arboriculture, focusing on the use of research results to improve the management of the urban forest in Singapore in areas relating to minimizing tree hazards, improving arboriculture practices, evaluation of tree species, improving tree health assessment using technology, etc. The successful applicant should have extensive experience in arboriculture research and management of urban forests. He/she will be tasked to plan and implement research projects in association with our partners to fulfill the objectives of the research program, and assist in the use of research results for management of Singapore's urban forest.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in Arboriculture, or related field from a recognized university
• Demonstrated research achievement in the above fields
• At least 5 years of working experience in a similar position
• Strong written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively in a variety of scientific and non-scientific forums
• Ability to work independently and as part of an inter-disciplinary research team in CUGE Research
