Description

Inland Fisheries Ireland is the state agency responsible for the protection, management and conservation of Ireland's inland fisheries and sea angling resources.

The Senior Research Officer, Quantitative Fisheries, will be a member of IFI’s management team. He/she will be responsible for leading scientific research that will contribute to the formulation and implementation of appropriate policies, strategies and initiatives for the Inland Fisheries Ireland Board with a specific focus on fish sampling and stock assessment, statistics and modelling, publication of scientific and management papers, and data management.

This position requires a candidate to demonstrate a proven track record in applied statistics and modelling. The successful candidate will have a relevant academic qualification and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in fisheries research and development.

Tenure: Specified Purpose Contract

Salary: SRO Scale (01.09.2019):

€56,588 €60,385 €62,761 €65,557 €68,401 €70,058 €72,776 €75,502 €78,218 €81,349 €84,225

Candidates should note that salary will not be subject to negotiation and the rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.  New entrants to the public sector will start on point 1 subject to Haddington Road Agreement and subsequent Government Agreements.
