Senior Research Associate

The Centre for Science and Environment, an established research and advocacy institute needs Senior Research Associate for its urban water programme.

The job responsibilities include

• high quality policy and technical research in the area of water/ wastewater management.

• Organising and coordinating training programmes.

• Providing technical support (planning and designing) on decentralised wastewater treatment systems such as baffled septic tank, rootzone treatment, polishing pond etc.  

• Interacting with policy makers, municipal functionaries/ utility providers, scientists and other target groups, network and campaign.

Postgraduates in environmental science, environment planning, city sanitation or other related subjects and/ or graduates in engineering (preferably civil, environmental/ public health engineering), architecture with experience of 2-4 years preferably in the area of water and wastewater treatment/ management may apply. Candidates with lesser experience/ freshers may also apply for the position of Research Associate.

If you have an eye for analytical depth, ability to analyse data, recognize relevant information fast, enthusiastic about tracking latest developments in national policies and mission in showcasing cost effective and environment friendly water/ wastewater management and push for change, then you are the candidate we are looking for. Knowledge of environment protection rules in particular, understanding of the compliance and monitoring of water pollution, prevention and control of water pollution will be an added advantage.

You must have experience and interest in managing awareness activites, organising seminars and workshops. Believe in making impact. Working under high pressure and challenging deadlines will be the norm.

Competency in English speaking and writing skills is must. Candidate must be willing to travel, network and report on issues. 
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
