Winrock is seeking Senior REDD+/Sustainable Landscape Advisor candidates for upcoming USAID-funded programs related to Climate Change Mitigation Programs in East Africa. The anticipated programs will be designed to strengthen the capacity of target countries in East Africa to achieve meaningful and sustained reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from the agriculture forestry and other land-use sector (AFOLU), and allow these countries to benefit from emerging international frameworks such as REDD+. Programs are expected to work at the regional, government and community levels, and will involve broad-based policy dialogue and capacity building, as well as targeted community-level interventions. Linkages may also be made to address the impacts of climate change on livelihoods, water flows, natural resources, biodiversity and food security, and to increase the resilience of communities vulnerable to changing ecosystems, agricultural production, and natural resource-based livelihoods.
