Senior R&D Technologist

Job description

The Senior Technologist is responsible for scouting and monitoring R&D, Technology and IP activities in the field of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) in the Americas. He or she will seek and identify government programs, co-operational opportunities and trends in the field. Responsibilities include the following tasks:

•Initiating and managing cooperation projects with research institutes and industrial partners.
•Identifying new R&D partners and evaluating fields for R&D cooperation.
•Organizing and executing field tests for prototypes in CSP plants.
•Compiling data and statistics to prepare and provide R&D reports.
•Supporting central R&D in product and process rollouts and campaign planning and test runs in production.
•Supporting other departments in R&D related issues especially in terms of technical customer support and production optimization.
•Supporting the global SCHOTT solar lean manufacturing system.
•Participating in national and international fairs and congresses.

The Sr. R&D Technologist must have at least 5 years of experience in the field of research or product development. He or she should have prior experience working in a multi-national matrix organization, scouting international technology and monitoring intellectual property and have demonstrated successful acquisition of public or private funding.
