Description

We are seeking a dynamic and articulate public affairs specialist, with a well-developed understanding of Parliamentary personalities, systems and operations, together the ability to persuasively present the League's objectives and influence opinion. The successful candidate will be a resourceful and organised team player with excellent communications and inter-personal skills, a proven ability to work at a senior level and a successful track record of developing effective and influential relationships with politicians and key opinion formers, including:

• Be a key member of the League's Media & Public Affairs team and contributing to the overall management and direction of external relations.

• Be responsible for the development and effective management of the League’s Parliamentary relations, including ensuring effective two-way communications, analysis of relevant trends and issues, promoting and shaping campaigns and events to support the League’s interests.

• Develop and maintain effective approaches, relations, and systems to optimise the influence of the League's interests with government, ensuring compliance with statutory and policy requirements, including providing well-informed and timely advisory services to the organisation, its staff and its stakeholders.

• Provide information, plans, reports, and actions to meet the League’s requirements, ambitions and success generally and specifically with regard to its relationships with government and Parliament.

• Be a corporate ambassador and advocate for the League, actively promoting support for the League and promoting positive relations with external contacts and stakeholders.
