Description

CDP is seeking a highly-motivated, meticulous individual with excellent relationship-building, communication and project management skills to lead deforestation engagement with private sector from China. This person will support the CDP supply chain account manager in developing the China supply chain program to include deforestation. Primarily this will be by helping CDP supply chain members and reporting suppliers adopt and implement deforestation-free policies and practices in the supply chains of key agricultural commodities driving unsustainable deforestation and forest degradation in China.

Research and project management skills are  fundamental to this role, as well as the ability to manage relationships and conduct conversations with multi-stakeholders. The candidate will also have an opportunity to contribute significantly to the future development of the CDP supply chain strategy for China.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop annual work plan in collaboration with the project lead for China, bringing in local and regional stakeholders where appropriate 
  • Engage with and support China suppliers to increase the levels of supply chain disclosure on deforestation.
  • Coordinate work with the project manager in London and provide update reports
  • Help to develop educational and training materials for company procurement teams
  • Develop and host multi stakeholder dialogue events, workshops and conferences
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of webinars
  • Collaborate with project partners on intelligence, assessment and situational analysis
  • Coordinate with CDP colleagues across programs and countries

Required Qualifications:

  • Master degree with minimum of 3+ years’ full time work experience in fields relevant to sustainability/ forest issues and an understanding of related commodity supply chains and/or project management and implementation.
  • Demonstrated quantitative analysis and research skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized thinker who can juggle multiple, competing priorities.
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and internet research.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with teams of individuals and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to multi-tasks, organized and able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Extremely well organized and efficient.
  • Ability to travel when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of timber, palm oil, soy and cattle product supply chains
  • Good knowledge of CRM systems
  • Familiarity with the environmental related policy and data
  • Experience with external communications with corporate
  • Experience in consulting service
  • Overseas study or working experience
