Senior Project Manager | Proforest Latin America Regional Office Proforest is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to help build and implement practical solutions to the challenges and commitments around sustainability of natural resources management. Particularly in the sectors of soy, cattle, sugarcane, palm and other commodities in Brazil and Spanish speaking Latin America. We help companies, government departments, non-governmental and civil society organizations to achieve the sustainable use of the world’s natural resources. Proforest has developed an unrivalled track record for working at all levels – from international policy and legislation to practical operations on the ground – to support the development and implementation of workable environmental and social standards and safeguards. Our headquarters is in Oxford, UK, and we have regional offices in Malaysia, Ghana and Brazil (Brasília). Our team is formed of people from different countries and backgrounds. The successful candidate should be able to work with people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
Position Summary The position is an exciting opportunity to take a senior role in Proforest’s growing team in America to lead/manage projects and programmes in Brazil, and help meet the growing demand for Proforest’s services for responsible sourcing of agricultural commodities from Latin America. Preferably based in Brasilia, this position entails developing and leading projects and programmes on agricultural commodities, as well as management, implementation and/or participation on a wide range of projects and programmes; particularly related to the development and implementation of responsible sourcing policies, practical solutions shared by multiple stakeholders, sustainable production and capacity building. Candidates must have the right to live and work in Brazil.
