PMO department
You will become part of the PMO department covering the Software areas within Vestas Technology R&D that develops the control software for wind turbines of the future. The department is anchored in a central position in the organization, where the stakeholders are the top management of the company, and where the participants are located across Vestas Technology R&D worldwide.
Responsibilities
You will be one of the anchormen securing that Vestas Wind Systems A/S will succeed in developing our well known products in the future.
As Senior Project Manager you are responsible for driving the total technology project according to The Stage Gate Model and The Vestas Way to Market through close relations with cross functional areas.
You are motivated by making results and achieving targets through others. In order to ensure stability for the employees you will act as first point of contact for the remaining part of the organization. Together with each employee and relevant line departments you will plan activities and ensure that agreements are kept.
- Planning, budget and leading the next generation of Technology projects in software in accordance to Technology roadmaps and our project portfolio
- Creating, developing and coaching of sub project teams
- Establishing and maintaining resource plans as well as providing clear overviews for prioritisation
- Being first point of contact in relation to own projects and leads the core team including technical leads.
- Developing and implementing best practice project processes
- Possess very strong cross functional leadership skills that secures the build-up of commitment and trustworthy relationships with internal and external partners in a global environment
- Acting as ambassador to a support team working in a multicultural environment
- Communicating change in a dynamic and global company
Qualifications
You have a relevant scientific Bachelor or Master degree within engineering.
- Strong and proven experience in project management of complex / cross-functional international R&D projects with focus on software and system project managment
- Strong and proven experience in using agile and scrum methods for software and system project management
- You have solid experience in executing projects using Stage Gate Model philosophy
- You have a proven track record of demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. You must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and to drive solutions
- It is an advantage if you have gained experience from working in a quality environment under ISO-9000, CMMI, six sigma or similar
- You must possess strong English language skills
