Description: Under the direction of the VP Commercial Business Segment, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects and phases of multiple construction projects simultaneously in conjunction with Superintendants, project managers, engineers and sales personnel. The Senior Project Manager’s primary responsibility is to ensure that construction occurs according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines without sacrificing quality. This position has project P&L responsibility.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendants and subcontractors
Duties: •Manage and provide leadership for project team consisting of project managers, superintendants, project engineers, subcontractors and consultants as needed for individual projects.
•Provide full management accountability for project revenue, margin, and schedule for multiple simultaneous commercial solar projects. Accurately forecast revenues and margins.
•Negotiate primary contracts with customers and ensure legal compliance.
•Responsible for identification and compliance with all contract requirements, documentation, and development and processing of change orders.
•Responsible for all Federal, State, local and Safety compliance
•Prepare budgets and schedules, track project actual vs. plan and take corrective action to meet objectives.
•Secure local subcontractors. Lead team in vetting and referencing, scoping, gaping, negotiating and contracting with subcontractors.
•Work with team to obtain all necessary permits, inspections, and authorizations for construction.
•Attending and recording project meetings.
•Oversee documentation updating and control during construction.
•Management of project construction team and quality control programs.
•Preparing and overseeing project close-out.
•Oversee maintenance planning and after-installation support.
•Provide sales support for proposal preparation including system evaluation, system sizing, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
•With the engineering team, oversee system technical design and components specification for commercial PV systems.
•Oversee preparation of manuals, drawings, reports and other documentation.
•Clearly report to Project Executive or VP on a regular basis about activities.
•Enlist support from other sections of the company when necessary.
Qualifications: TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Advanced understanding of contracts, plans, specifications and construction methods
•Detailed experience with geotechnical, earthwork, and electrical systems contracting and construction.
•Remain informed on new construction means and methods.

REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS:
•Planning, scheduling, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes and standards
•Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
•Proficiency with project management software, and proven ability to create and update daily, weekly, and long term schedules

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•BA/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline required.
•Fifteen or more years progressive experience in construction, including as a Project Engineer, Project Manager or Project Superintendant.
•Experience with commercial photovoltaic systems >1MW preferred
•Experience with large scale cut and fill earthwork or landfill construction required
•Experience with subcontracting industrial or large commercial electrical work required

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
•Strong knowledge of contract language and contract negotiation
•Understanding of project cost accounting and tracking procedures
•Ability to create and execute project work plans

LICENCES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED/DESIRED:

•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
•Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 50-75% of time)
