Protected Areas Programme
Salary £32,000 - £38,000

 We are looking for a motivated and technically experienced Senior Programme Officer to work in the Protected Areas Programme to lead the activities of the science and assessment projects. The Programme is currently working on a variety of projects including Biopama, PARCC, the analysis of World Heritage Sites, assessments to answer Millennium Development Goals, CBD Aichi Biodiversity targets and production of Protected Planet 2014.

This role will provide you with the chance to manage external relationships and partners, coordinate the further development of projects to support the development and delivery of UNEP-WCMC’s work within Protected Areas and to play a driving role in the development and analyses of protected areas indicators and scientific assessments. Working closely with the UNEP-WCMC management team and key stakeholders you will ensure that Protected Areas projects are managed and implemented to the highest level of quality. You will show leadership and innovation and will develop strong relationships with individual partner organisations including global partners in UN, non-Governmental, Scientific and Private Sectors.

You will have the opportunity to secure funding, resource and deliver a portfolio of projects. Using your extensive knowledge of protected areas systems and networks you will contribute to all aspects of the Protected Areas science and assessment programme.
