We are looking for a motivated and experienced person to work as a Senior Programme Officer in the Climate Change & Biodiversity Programme. The Programme aims to provide authoritative information to support decision-making related to climate change and biodiversity conservation. The Programme’s work covers the impacts of climate change and of climate-related policy on biodiversity, and the role of biodiversity and ecosystem services in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
You will play a leading role within the Programme and have the chance to drive the development and implementation of major projects and initiatives that support effective decision-making on biodiversity and climate change. Your work will be high profile with an international focus, and an emphasis on climate change mitigation (especially REDD+) and/or ecosystem-based adaptation. You will work within an international arena and alongside leading experts in the sector, and will help to shape the strategic direction of the Programme. You will have substantial experience in relevant scientific and policy-related work, including experience at the science-policy interface, and will be a team player and a skilled manager.
This role will involve extensive international networking and collaboration within an engaging team environment. The programme, with its experienced, ambitious and results-oriented staff, provides an excellent environment to develop and contribute your own skills. We will provide you with the chance to develop your awareness and strategic understanding of international policy issues, and further develop your project and people management and technical skills. In addition to training and development opportunities, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including generous pension contributions.
