Description

Under the overall guidance of the Country Representative and the Programme Coordinator of IUCN Bangladesh, and under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer (Biodiversity and Species Coordinator), the Senior Programme Assistant (Wildlife Biologist) will undertake following specific responsibilities:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

1. Assist in successfully implementing all project activities under the programme in accordance to the agreement between the donor with guidance from the Project management;
2. Closely monitors the development and implementation timelines, records progress, and documents problems and issues to be addressed and for the review and actions by the Project Manager;
3. Assist project manager/team to maintain communication with donor (Linnaeus University), key project stakeholders (Bangladesh Forest Department) as well as volunteers and consultants;
4. Lead and conduct all kinds of field surveys, collection of data, data analysis and compilation of the reports and papers;
5. Conduct satellite tagging, bird census and surveys, ringing and related work and sample collection from birds and overall field camp management;
6. Support project team in implementation of the all project activities as per work plan;
7. Organize trainings. meetings, workshops, awareness campaigns and field work as per project plan;
8. Conduct project management activities as assigned by the project management
9. Overall field coordination and coordinate all project activities and work plan;
10. Prepare all project reports, scientific papers and all other committed deliverables, are produced, submitted and accepted by the donor in a timely manner as per the Agreement;
11. Undertake any other tasks that may be assigned by the Country Representative, the Programme Coordinator of IUCN Bangladesh and project manager, from time to time.
