Description

EarthCon Consultants, Inc. (EarthCon), a national environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Wetlands Specialist or Ecologist as Gulf Coast Division Leader to lead a natural resource practice. This position is based in Madison or Ocean Springs, MS and will service clients throughout the Gulf Coast region.

This position requires the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related discipline
  • 10 years or more experience in Wetlands Delineation and Natural Resource projects with at least 5 years in environmental consulting
  • Extensive experience in wetland delineation/mitigation, habitat restoration/regulatory permitting and ecological assessments involving T&E evaluations or relation field
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal regulatory programs such as NEPA and CERCLA
  • A PWS certification is strongly preferred.
  • Relationship with NACOE district offices preferred.
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
  • Can-do attitude and strong work ethic

Specific duties may include:

  • Perform and manage ecological assessments, wetlands delineation and related projects
  • Mitigation plan preparation
  • State and Federal Permitting
  • Project management responsibilities including supervision and mentorship project staff; budget development and resource allocation
  • Client communications and management
