Duties

The responsibilities in respect to the Program Manager role for the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE), includes but is not limited to, the development and implementation of project plans to support the delivery of the program of work in accordance with the Release Schedule, whilst ensuring quality and cost effectiveness are not compromised.

This objective will include:

  • Development and management of project definition and delivery plans for projects assigned by the Executive, in accordance with the DCCEE project management framework
  • Delivery of effective and efficient projects that meet the Department’s business requirements
  • Co-ordination with the DCCEE Release Manager with respect to delivery of the project(s) in accordance with the release schedule
  • Overall Management responsibility for procurement and financial performance of the projects consolidated under the DCCEE program
  • Oversee linkages and negotiate project outcomes with regard to DCCEE policy, business process development & other ICT systems/projects
  • Consolidation of ‘Lessons Learnt’ from delivered projects
  • Preparation and delivery of project briefs to senior management
  • Responsibility for project reporting inputs to the DCCEE Executive
  • Mentoring of project team staff.
  • Liaison with Vendors as required including contract negotiations
  • Ensure that Project risks are identified and reported so that mitigation strategies may be put in place
  • In conjunction with the Executive, set strategic directions and define objectives for the section
