Description

We have a vacancy for an experienced researcher to join our five person Agriculture and Rural Development policy team, managing and contributing to a variety of projects and advisory work in this field. IEEP’s Agriculture and Rural Development team has an excellent reputation as a leading authority on agri-environmental and sustainable land use policies and issues in the EU. The team’s work programme focuses on informing the development of policies with implications for the sustainable use of land. As such, we are currently involved in work on the future direction of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the funding priorities of the forthcoming EU Budget, and in particular, we are focusing on ways in which farming and forestry can help to protect Europe’s biodiversity and contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. The projects we work on vary considerably in size and subject matter, and are for a range of sponsors and clients, including DG Agriculture and DG Environment, the European Parliament, the EU institutions, national governmental bodies, the UK countryside agencies and NGOs. The scope of the work is broad - covering the key environmental issues of the day - and is of a strategic nature.
