3Degrees is seeking a dynamic, energetic individual to serve as Senior Outreach Associate in the Northern and central Virginia areas. This is a “temp to perm” position. A regular employment position with benefits may be offered following a 90-day probationary period, based on performance. The Senior Outreach Associate will assist in outreach, education and sales activities aimed at growing the Dominion Green Power® program. Dominion Green Power is a voluntary program that provides Dominion Virginia Power customers the opportunity to support the development of new renewable energy through the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). The responsibilities of the Senior Outreach Associate will be threefold: 1) To be the primary Green Power representative at events in the Northern Virginia area; 2) Plan and implement a successful commercial sales strategy for small to mid-size businesses in Northern and Central Virginia; 3) Assist in management of the wider Virginia (located in Richmond and Charlottesville) outreach team, conduct trainings, and tend to various administrative tasks associated with this team management role. On the Virginia outreach team, you will be the front line of communication and education for the Dominion Green Power program in the Northern Virginia area. The Senior Outreach Associate will work collaboratively to educate and enroll customers in Dominion Green Power, through outreach at community events, festivals, farmers markets, and storefront and community tables. The Senior Outreach Associate may also be tasked with direct coordination and building relationships with area towns, companies and key contacts. 3Degrees is looking for a team player who is able to work independently. The ideal candidate will be a stellar communicator, committed to environmental causes and renewable energy, and comfortable with engaging with the general public and business owners to promote the Dominion Green Power program.
Duties:
• Execute successful sales initiatives aimed at increasing program participation in small to mid-size businesses across Central and Northern Virginia. • Represent the Dominion Green Power program at events and tabling locations, and enroll customers in the Dominion Green Power program. • Manage and lead door-to-door Courtesy Knock campaigns to inform residential customers about the Dominion Green Power program • Maintain a set enrollment average in both residential and commercial outreach efforts. • Assist and/or lead training of outreach team members, and serve as the shift leader for all shifts conducted alongside other team members • Provide professional outreach in support of EPA Green Power Community Challenges. • Assist in planning of successful residential and commercial outreach strategies. • Keep up-to-date on the Dominion Green Power program and accurately communicate specifics of the program to both residential and commercial customers. • Set up and transport displays, tents, banners, and booths; store and maintain all equipment and materials. • Provide all enrollments and detailed information on each outreach experience to the Virginia Outreach Coordinator. • Participate in regular meetings with the Virginia Outreach Coordinator, Partnership Manager and other Team members. • Attend all necessary trainings in order to have a clear understanding of the Dominion Green Power program and EPA Green Power Communities.
Qualifications:
? Degree from a four-year institution ? Sales or outreach experience required, commercial sales experience preferred ? Well spoken, outgoing and dynamic personality ? Dedication to sustainability and renewable energy ? Ability to work frequent weekends and occasional evenings ? Must be comfortable approaching new customers at events ? Ability to stay on feet for 4-5 hours at a time and work in cold or warm weather ? Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds ? Must have a reliable vehicle, cell phone, and computer with Internet access
