A large successful environmental consultancy is looking for an experienced ecologist to fill a senior position within its consultancy team. The company offers rewarding, challenging and high profile ornithology project work in the UK and overseas, including both commercial and research activities. Candidates will need:
? Experience in the management of ornithological surveys, analysis and reporting
? Experience in the management of staff undertaking ornithology projects
? Knowledge of ornithological issues relating to intertidal waterfowl ecology
? Experience of environmental impact assessment and specifically, the assessment of impacts on birds and their habitats
? Competency in the identification of British bird species, by sight and sound and a track-record of surveys using standard methodologies
? A working knowledge of key environmental legislation and policy (e.g. Birds/Habitats Directive, PPS9)
? A relevant degree in the natural sciences
? Knowledge of statistical analysis, mapping and modelling techniques is an advantage
? A driving license is essential
