Under the supervision of the Conservation Manager, the Senior Marine Biodiversity Officer provides thought leadership and scientific and technical support to seascape programme teams on marine biodiversity conservation tools (mainly protected areas, Locally Managed Marine Areas, ecological monitoring) as needed to achieve the outcomes of the 2015-2020 strategic plan.
What you need:
Required Qualifications and experiences :
- At least Masters’ level in marine biology, environment, forestry or equivalent
- At least 7 years’ experience in leading and implementing conservation programmes
- Positive experience in managing donor-funded programmes
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, fluency in Malagasy, French and English languages
- GIS capacity would be an advantage
- Excellent computer knowledge (word-processing, spread sheet, e-mail…)

- Good knowledge of the WIO region
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation competence
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative and work independently
- Excellent team player with good networking and interpersonal skills
