AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc (AMEC), an environmental consulting firm, has an immediate job opening for a Senior Natural Resources Project Manager. Primary job responsibilities associated with this position will include developing existing and new client relationships, senior technical review of current projects, and direction and leadership of multi-disciplinary projects. Experience should involve all phases of the project life cycle, including proposal/work plan development, project management, technical analysis, preparation of deliverables, and quality assurance. A well-developed working knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Oregon Department of State Lands (DSL) removal/fill regulations, and other Federal, State, and local regulations affecting wetlands and aquatic systems is required. Excellent written and verbal communications skills also are required. Accountabilities The candidate will serve as technical lead on projects and will be capable of presenting results in formal settings. The candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and developing customer relationships, generating leads, and providing staff oversight and professional development all of which contribute to the growth of the unit’s natural resources practice. Qualifications BS (MS preferred) in biology or related natural sciences with a minimum 12 years experience in private sector environmental consulting or natural resource management. A strong applied knowledge of wetland sciences or aquatic/terrestrial ecology is desired based on experience in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Well-developed skills including field research, botanical analysis, and data management are essential. Demonstrated NEPA experience including consultations with Federal, State, and local agencies is essential. Project permitting experience related to government land management activities and infrastructure development involving the transportation, water resource, communications, and energy sectors also is of key importance.
