Do you want to help secure a sustainable future for the seas around England?

The MMO is currently developing the first marine plans and will eventually do so for the whole of England. This role will help oversee their production, working closely with other teams to deliver clear, sound plans that reflect the policy context as well as technical evidence. The role will have a focus on ensuring that stakeholder engagement is effective and appropriate so that their views inform the planning process.

Experience should include: Educated to degree level and/or significant relevant experience in team leadership, spatial planning and stakeholder management, team working with a range of organisations and communicating complex issues clearly. Experience of marine related sectors and activities is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right calibre of person to play a significant role in the development and implementation of marine planning in England.

The role of the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is to make a significant contribution to sustainable development in the marine area and to promote the UK government's vision for clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas.

You will manage a small team of marine planners, providing appropriate leadership and management. As the marine plan making process is new, this role will contribute to developmental thinking, monitoring progress, and applying lessons learnt.
