Senior Marine Planner (Evidence & Analysis)
SEO Grade - Starting salary £33,072 pa
Location Newcastle, Cambridge or Lowestoft (significant travel will also be required)

Do you want to help secure a sustainable future for the seas around England?

Marine plans must be based on a sound evidence base. This role will provide an overview, from an applied perspective, of collation, analysis and synthesis of evidence, and related research, to support marine planning in general and area plans specifically, working closely with colleagues within and outside of the MMO.

Whilst the focus will be data and information, the role will include understanding policy and integrating stakeholder intelligence.

Experience should include: Educated to degree level and/or significant relevant experience of working with evidence applied to marine or coastal issues; project and staff management; working in teams and with a range of organisations; communicating complex issues clearly; Knowledge of the UK marine environment is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right calibre of person to play a significant role in the development and implementation of marine planning in England.

The role of the Marine Management Organisation (MMO) is to make a significant contribution to sustainable development in the marine area and to promote the UK government's vision for clean, healthy, safe, productive and biologically diverse oceans and seas.

You will manage a small team of marine planners, providing appropriate leadership and management. As the marine plan making process is new, this role will contribute to developmental thinking, monitoring progress, and applying lessons learnt.
