Description

The British Antarctic Survey (BAS), part of the Natural Environment Research Council, aims to undertake a world-class programme of scientific research, and to sustain for the UK an active and influential regional presence and a leadership role in Antarctic affairs. 

We now require a Senior Marine Engineer to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of BAS Ships and boats through the management of refits and by providing engineering expertise and support to the ships.

To manage an annual resource budget of £1.5M and a capital budget of £500K or greater.

Qualifications: HNC/BTEC in Marine or Mechanical engineering or equivalent marine industry qualification

Duration: Open-ended

Salary: Salary will be in the range of £30,710 to £37,120 per annum. We offer a generous benefits package including a defined salary pension scheme, free car parking, flexible working hours and 30 days annual leave.
