The Senior Manager of Forestry Program is responsible for leading NWF’s forest conservation and restoration program in the nine-state region of NWF’s southeast office.  The Senior Manager will be responsible for working with a team of NWF colleagues and various partner groups across the southeast region to define and implementing a regional forest conservation program with an emphasis on:  restoration of longleaf pine ecosystems and habitat, outreach and capacity building for minority forest landowners, state and federal policy support such as through Farm Bill reauthorization, collaboration with NWF state affiliates on place-based restoration project, exploring market based approaches such as forestry certification, and fundraising for program support.  As part of the national Climate and Energy team, the Senior Manager will work closely with NWF staff in the Atlanta regional office and other NWF offices, as well as staff and volunteers of NWF affiliate and partner organizations. The position will involve policy development, strategic planning, program implementation, fundraising, occasional lobbying, and collaboration with constituents, agencies, donors, and other groups.
