Job Description
This position will be responsible for helping to develop, implement and manage the Foundation’s national giving strategy focused on environment sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a generalist with broad knowledge of environmental sustainability issues including, energy efficiency, educational/awareness programs focused on youth, water, waste, climate, etc. In this position, the associate will:
• Manage the programmatic partnerships/relationships, including advocacy, policy and academic research partners. • Conduct due diligence on potential partners through the proposal development process, site visits, program analysis and financial analysis. • Support the development of the overall strategic roadmap for the Foundation’s initiatives. • Work with internal groups and stakeholders to leverage foundation programs against relevant corporate initiatives. • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise others to support ongoing initiatives. • Represent the Foundation at internal meetings, conferences, and special events. • Maintain a high level of expertise and remain current on developments in the sustainability field and appropriate sub-fields. • Review proposals and provide oversight of all request for funding pertaining to workforce development and related issues. • Assist with the design and implementation of the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation of national grant programs. • Monitor progress toward program objectives and develop recommendations to senior leadership for any appropriate strategic changes. • Perform other duties, including special projects, as assigned. You will have • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience working on sustainability issues. • Ability to assess programs and identify those with a strong potential for funding. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Strong research skills. • Superior written communications skills. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Self starter that can implement strategic plans through to execution. • Team player that feels comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment. • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Prior non-profit experience required. • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Power Point.
Preferred Requirements
• Prior Grant Management experience. • Master’s degree in relevant field. • Proficiency in Excel.
