KPMG helps companies leverage change. KPMG’s Climate Change and Sustainability Services team understands the full-spectrum of emerging social, economic and environmental issues that our clients face. We help create strategies that can enhance the organization’s performance and create sustainable value for the benefit of all stakeholders.

THE OPPORTUNITY
 
The successful candidate will be based out of our Toronto office and focus on the further development of the Sustainability Assurance service line. This role requires a highly visible presence capable of responding to the increasing need for assurance of non-financial information. We are seeking a senior level individual who can respond to the growing needs of KPMG’s current and future clients. Target clients will include companies from all industries who require assurance on non-financial information that may be presented in a sustainability/CSR or other type of climate change, environmental, and citizenship focused publication or report.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leveraging KPMG Sustainability assurance tools and capabilities to help drive expansion opportunities.
  • Identifying sales opportunities in the market
  • Leading the development of proposals for and subsequent delivery of assurance on sustainability information
  • Working with senior KPMG leaders from other practice areas to enhance and integrate their respective skills and services
  • Helping organizations to manage their physical, regulatory and reputational risks related to sustainability information
  • Providing leadership, direction, and guidance to clients.

THE SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS:

·        10+ years of experience within related disciplines
·         5+ years of Sustainability advisory and verification expperience
·         Familiarity with ISAE 3000, GRI G3 Reporting Guidelines, the AA 1000 series of standards and the SA8000 standard
·         Excellent written and oral business communication skills
·         Excellent facilitation skills
·         Demonstrated experience with consensus and relationship building
·         Proven track record in project management
·         Demonstrated ability to lead and manage sustainability assurance projects
·         Proven track record in business development
·         Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of clients
·         Evidence of client networking success
·         Postgraduate degree or equivalent with extensive related education in this field.
