Description

My client is a fast-growing and successful international manufacturing company specializing in solar photovoltaic wafers and modules and also producing tracking solutions which are resistant to external conditions such as weather. They provide complete turnkey solutions for large/utility scale solar PV power plants across Europe, and are particularly focusing on Italy, France and Germany.

Owing to their exciting expansion plan, they now have a new requirement for a senior level candidate Business Development to be based in Munich/München.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • ·         Overseeing business development efforts for solar PV power plants across Europe, particularly Germany, Italy and France
  • ·         Working in conjunction with the Heads of France and Italy business development in order to streamline the business’s growth throughout Europe
  • ·         Performing a multifaceted function including strategic management and forecasting as well as business development
  • ·         Working closely with the direct Sales professionals as well as distributors affiliated with the company
  • ·         Overseeing business development associates to generate leads and convert these
  • ·         Carefully monitoring the market, and any general trends as well as particular shifts in direction, in order to stay competitive and ahead of the competition and establish the company as one of the leading players in Europe for solar PV EPC projects
  • ·         Travelling intermittently throughout Germany and further afield in Europe
  • ·         Reporting directly into the CEO
  • ·         Taking strategic business decisions relating to project development, sales, financing and recruitment
  • ·         Ensuring all projects undertaken  have undergone the relevant due diligence, feasibility studies, documentation, commercial contracts etc
  • ·         Taking responsibility for managing important relationships with suppliers, clients, financial institutions and other 3rd parties
  • ·         Communicate with relevant lawyers on all contractual or legal issues
  • ·         Budget planning, resource allocation, some recruitment responsibilities

Skill set and qualifications needed:

  • ·         Degree in business administration, marketing or commerce – bachelor’s or masters although MBA graduates would be welcome within the above pay scale
  • ·         Strong, proven experience in the solar photovoltaic market in Germany and further afield in Europe, must be willing to live/work in Munich
  • ·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in solar PV business development in the German market focusing on large scale solar photovoltaic power plants
  • ·         Minimum of 8 years’ overall work experience in Business Development in the German market in a senior management capacity

Languages:

  • ·         Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) is a must. Any other additional European languages would be a plus.

Technical skills:

  • ·         Experience of documentation relating to due diligence, commercial negotiations, financing, permitting etc in Germany, France and Italy for solar photovoltaic power plants 

Further requirements:

  • ·         Passionate about renewable energy, especially solar PV power
  • ·         Excellent team player, ambitious and quick to respond, good at working to deadlines
  • ·         Flexibility to travel, must be willing to be based in Munich as a large amount of time will be spent in the Munich office
