It is a critical decade for the future of the planet.  The mission of Greenpeace, to ensure the ability of the Earth to nurture life in all its diversity, has never been more urgent.

Greenpeace Australia Pacific seeks an outstanding applicant to become our new Head of Program, providing overall management and strategic direction for all of our campaigns, communications, mobilisation and field activities.

This is a vital position, at the centre of Australia Pacific’s climate and environment movements, and playing a crucial role in developing and delivering Greenpeace’s global campaigns on rainforests, oceans, climate change and renewable energy.

The successful applicant will be a rigorous, innovative, strategic and systematic thinker, and an excellent manager with a talent for developing people and ideas.  We need someone who is capable of working across multiple complex fields of activity, with a proven determination to win.

Working with a tight knit senior management team, this full-time position reports directly to the CEO and will work closely with peers across Greenpeace globally.

About us:

For over 40 years, Greenpeace has been at the forefront of the world’s most pressing environmental issues. These issues are global in nature and so are their solutions. With 26 independent national and regional offices worldwide covering operations in more than 55 countries, we work with communities across the world to achieve large-scale change. Greenpeace Australia Pacific has a mandate to defend the rich, diverse and fragile environments in the Australia Pacific region. We investigate and expose environmental abuse, hold decision-makers accountable, promote effective solutions and inspire others to create positive change.

Greenpeace can guarantee a flexible work environment, friendly and helpful co-workers, as well as opportunities for professional development.

How to apply:

Any published closing dates are estimated.  Due to the nature of Greenpeace’s work we aim to fill vacancies as quickly as possible.  This means that we will close adverts as soon as we have found the right candidate and this may be before the published closing date.  We would therefore advise interested applicants to submit an application as early as possible.

Greenpeace welcomes and values diversity of people, cultural experiences and perspectives. We actively encourage applications from all corners of our global society. Through our campaigning, we create solutions that promote environmental sustainability rooted in social justice.
