We seek a Senior Legislative Representative to better protect and restore floodplains in the face of more intense storms, sea level rise, flooding and other climate impacts by advocating on behalf of NWF’s coasts and floodplains campaigns. This includes advocating for reforms to the National Flood Insurance Program and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works Construction program; the Senior Legislative Representative will also engage as needed on water scarcity and drought issues in the West. He or she will be responsible for intensive outreach to Congress and Administration in an effort to advance funding, policy and other priorities identified by NWF. The position Senior Legislative Representative will serve as a key liaison to partner organizations and coalitions including taxpayer and fiscal conservative groups and business interests. Other responsibilities include education, policy analysis, materials production, and coordination with both the coasts and floodplains team and the national restoration team.
