WRT requires a Senior Land and Fisheries Officer (permanent contract) to work in the South Hams area of South Devon.
Fisheries management experience is essential to this role. However, the candidate will need a wide range of skills and experience, as well as a capacity to work independently, whilst liaising closely with management in the Trust's Stoke Climsland office.
The successful applicant will be motivated to apply and deepen their understanding of freshwater fisheries science, ecology and agricultural land-use systems. A large part of this role will involve interaction with a diverse range of stakeholders; particularly farmers, angling associations, government agencies, NGO's and the wider public. Therefore strong interpersonal skills are essential in addition to academic qualifications and applied scientific and agricultural experience.
The project will involve significant amounts of fieldwork. The successful candidate will have highly developed organisational and time management skills to project manage the delivery of river restoration, fish passes and easements to a tight schedule.
Please send a covering letter (not more than one side of A4) and Curriculum Vitae to the following address before the Friday 24th August 2012.
