Job Objective:

The Senior Knowledge Leader, Environmental Sustainability is integral to LRN’s drive to pioneer, communicate and integrate knowledge in the areas of environmental responsibility and sustainability. This role will develop key insights to help create solutions for LRN’s partners’ board of directors, senior leadership, compliance and ethics function, functional management and workforces. The Senior Knowledge Leader, Environmental Sustainability will help integrate knowledge in this area across the strategic elements of the LRN Knowledge Architecture.

Job Duties:

• Enhance, maintain and contribute to the LRN Knowledge Architecture

• Contribute insight and knowledge to over-arching LRN strategies

• Help LRN become a laboratory and exemplar for HOW

• Consistent with our business principles of 90% subscription to 10% consulting, and reusability/repeatability, participate directly in Partner engagements in the areas of Environmental Sustainability

• Develop and execute strategic plans to better integrate GreenOrder into the LRN Knowledge business activities in the areas of Environmental Sustainability

• Work with GreenOrder to design and develop strategies for environmental innovation and thought leadership

• Participate in sales and pre-sales activity where there is a unique and necessary contribution required from a senior knowledge leader

• Contribute insight and knowledge to our marketing strategy, activities and events

• Enhance and maintain industry/professional contacts and leadership and influence with professional associations

• Enhance and maintain a network of subject matter experts

• Enhance and maintain LRN’s thought leadership across the Knowledge Architecture

• Contribute knowledge to LRN Content activities such as course content and Solutions content, etc.

• Present or lead training sessions across all of the Knowledge domains, at conferences and to various Partner organizations including at their officer and Board level;

• Participate in strategic product/solution launch activities on behalf of the Knowledge team

• Contribute to the launch and implementation planning of the LRN Risk Assessment tool and work with subject matter experts to review and update its content to include Environmental Sustainability dimensions

• Mentor Knowledge Leaders on sales, pre-sales and Partner Engagement activities to help develop insight and strategic thinking

• Present to Boards of Directors and Senior Management Teams on Environmental Sustainability and other knowledge architecture topics; help boards and senior management understand the interconnections in the Knowledge Architecture

• Act as thought leaders in the area of principled performance

• Participate in the creation of the strategic vision for international expansion of LRN’s business opportunities


Job Qualifications & Professional Skills:


Demonstrate experience and commitment to live the LRN values and leadership framework, and strong desire to be part of a HOW exemplar company.

Incumbent must be an industry recognized leader in the field of Environmental Sustainability and responsibility. Strong management skills and strategic thinking, ability to collaborate on or lead cross-functional teams, as well as excellent communication skills are important to this role. Specific subject matter expertise as well as industry vertical experience is essential.

Business experience of 15 years or more, of which 5 or more years in leadership roles within Environmental Affairs is required along with a JD, MBA or PH.D.

General Guidelines:

Incumbent must be able to adjust thinking to changing business conditions or imperatives and must have the ability to work with a diverse organization in a geographically dispersed environment. Incumbent must also be able to work with minimal direction and be a self-starter within a vibrant, high energy organization. The position requires the ability to lead teams, work cross-functionally and work directly with Partners or prospects. The incumbent must be able to lead live discussions, conduct workshops, direct or lead live/experiential learning and speak in front of large audiences.

Key Role Interactions:

Important interactions include frequent collaboration with GreenOrder, along with the Solutions Department, Content group, Field Sales and Marketing, Operations Council and Partner organizations. Must be able to interact with the Executive Team, including the CEO, on a frequent basis.
