Senior Hydro Engineer

This is a leading engineering role in this small renewable energy consultancy with offices in Scotland and in the South West England. Main area of specialty lies in small to medium hydropower schemes and other water related projects.

The successful candidate will be involved in a range of activities:

  • turbine selection
  • practical site assessment and feasibility studies
  • design and specification of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical plants
  • 2D/3D fluid modelling

Ideally candidates should have the following skill set:

  • relevant engineering HNC/HND/Degree
  • experience of small hydro
  • excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • a high level of numeracy, literacy and IT skills (MS Office)
  • excellent report writing and analytical skills
  • flexible and practical approach
  • self-motivation and a team player

The job holder needs to have a driving licence, some travel across clients' site is to be expected with the role.
