Senior Furnace Technologist, Singapore

My client, is among the top 10 manufacturers of high quality PV (photovoltaic) cells and modules. They have experienced significant growth globally due to the increase in solar activity and the market share that they hold, as a result they are expanding their operations and are looking for a senior furnace technologist to bring on board in their new offices in Singapore.

Position Overview:

My client is looking for an experienced furnace technologist to work from their offices in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with customers and suppliers, technical analysis, process development and will take a lead role in furnace activities. Responsibilities:

• ·         You will have a specific focus on furnace technology.
• ·         Responsible for the development of new and improvement of existing processes to improve crystal quality.
• ·         Liaise with their international teams and third party collaborators to improve customer experience
• ·         Assist with wafer operations and improvement projects
• ·         Conduct technical analysis daily
• ·         Collaborate with 3^rd party project partners and apply standard practices for partner and supply management
• ·         Working to strict deadlines
• ·         Develop a portfolio of experts within the solar industry such as suppliers, customers etc.

Education:

• ·         PhD in metallurgy, materials science, physics, mechanical engineering or related field of study

Core Requirements:

• ·         3-5 years industry or R&D experience
• ·         Proven track record in silicon crystal growth or other high temperature crystallization/casting processes
• ·         Must have a strong knowledge of crystal quality and crystal defects and their link to process conditions
• ·         Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods
• ·         Experience with high temperature processing equipment technology
• ·         Must have an extensive knowledge of the processes involved in PV cell manufacturing

• ·         Be passionate about pioneering new PV cell technology and growing the business
• ·         Will need to be a structured and analytical individual
• ·         Excellent ability to co-operate with different professionals (operations, equipment suppliers, technology institutes, supply chain, operation)
• ·         Be willing to live and work in Singapore
• ·         Must be fluent in English
