Description

Environmental and social regeneration charity Groundwork London is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Events & Training Coordinator to manage and lead all events and training sessions as part of our highly-regarded Green Doctor programme.

The Green Doctor programme delivers home energy efficiency visits to vulnerable clients: a mixture of installing low cost energy devices, providing advice and guidance, and referring residents on to further services and agencies. It is well established, working across 14 London boroughs and into Sussex and Kent, with an experienced delivery team.

The Senior Events & Training Coordinator will be responsible for leading the events and training programme which complements our visits; helping to generate referrals; train up front line workers and community members in fuel poverty and energy related issues and promote the scheme.

You will be able to manage competing programme commitments and ensure they are completed on time and within budget, taking responsibilities for all aspects of events from inception to reporting. You will be confident in managing a remote workforce and using staff time efficiently for maximum impact. You will be able to design and deliver engaging and interactive training sessions for a wide audience and be proficient in PowerPoint and other demonstration tools. You’ll also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills communicating with all parts of the community and clients.

A good knowledge of energy efficiency and the effects fuel poverty has on the health and wellbeing of vulnerable people is desirable but not essential.

The post-holder needs to maintain a flexible approach to the role as it develops.

This position is for a six months contract period with the possibility to extend.
