Job Description


To carry out a senior role within the Environmental Team and assist the Environmental Manager in managing & developing the Environmental team. In addition the successful candidate will be experienced within Environmental Impact Assessment associated with Road improvement works, experienced working knowledge of DMRB & have a specialism such as in carrying out a range of ecological survey work and in particular badger, bats, otters etc, water, noise & vibration etc

Requirements

  • BSc (Hons) in Environmental Impact Assessment or related disciplines or equivalent
  • Significant experience in the delivery of environmental impact assessments
  • The candidate must have a proven track record in the delivery of a range of environmental impact assessments and various other Environmental reports such as Ecological, Water, Noise & Vibration, Contaminated Land etc
  • Good IT skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of relevant environmental standards , DMRB, approved environmental codes of practice, guidance
  • It is desirable that the candidate be chartered Environmentalist through the IEMA/IEEM/CIWM or be working toward chartered status
  • Experience of leading an Environmental/ ecological team would be advantageous
  • Good communication skills are important as the position will involve working as part of a team and will entail regular involvement with other members of the design team, other project managers within the design department with occasional involvement with route and network managers/engineers
  • Completion of work within required timescale   

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Will be required to undertake a management role within the team and supervise team members in a range of environmental disciplines
  • Involved in the production and review of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports associated with Road improvement works and Planning Application submission
  • Will be required to provide technical support in the carrying out of Environmental Impact Assessment, specialist surveys such as ecological, water, noise & vibration etc
  • Will be required to provide technical environmental advice including mitigation measures
  • Will be required to undertake applications for various types of environmental licences such as European Protected Species licenses, CAR licences etc
  • Will be require to assist in the development of the team
  • Will be require to provide technical support in sustainability and carbon management
