Senior Environmental Modeller

Location: Wolverhampton

ADAS provides independent science-based research consultancy and contracting services, aimed at two major issues of our time: securing food supply and enhancing the environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to research assessing the impacts of government policy on sustainable agriculture, control of diffuse pollution and provision of ecosystem services through development and application of computer models and spatial analysis of national environmental datasets.

The post requires an ability to apply statistical and scientific programming skills to analyse, explore and quantify environmental processes and subsequently communicate these complex concepts and natural processes to a range of stakeholders that include land managers, academics and policy makers.

The post holder will be expected to lead the development of new projects and secure funding through competitive tendering processes with the support of the Research Scientist and other members of the team.

A working knowledge of current agri-environment issues, policy initiatives and concerns relating to management of the countryside is desirable. Familiarity with national agri-environmental datasets and Geographic Information Systems will be advantageous.

The salary range is between £34,763 and £38,625 depending on qualifications and experience.
