Our client is an established consultancy providing top flight consultancy and project management expertise to the Renewable Energy marketplace. It is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to support the Head of Environment in delivering advice to clients in the renewable energy sector (primarily offshore and onshore wind). This role will report directly to the Head of Environment and will support him to lead the Environmental team delivering consultancy services to clients. The Senior Environmental Consultant will need a detailed understanding of key renewable technologies, particularly offshore wind teamed with a comprehensive understanding of terrestrial planning systems and key impacts of onshore wind projects on the environment. This post needs not only to define the high standards in the Environmental field but also display excellent people skills to support, develop and lead a diverse and dynamic team of consultants providing Consultancy services to its clients.
Essential skills for this role are:
Commercial / corporate ethos
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
Good understanding of marine environmental issues
Practical experience of environmental impact assessment, ideally in the marine environment
Advantageous skills for this role are:
Minimum of 2 years experience in a commercial renewable energies or Marine environment
Good understanding of the regulatory processes in the marine environment
Good understanding of marine industries and their environmental impact
Experience in Corporate Social Responsibility / Climate Change Mitigation or Energy Management
Membership of IEMA or IEEM.
