This superb opportunity has recently arisen with a leading provider of environmental consultancy services to the UK nuclear industry. The business is broadening further and now requires a suitably qualified professional to join its environmental assessments team. From the outset you will be expected to make an important technical contribution to projects. You will undertake a wide range of studies, which could include BPEO, BPM and other optioneering work, the assessment of radioactive discharges, and the construction and assessment of waste management strategies and programmes. You will be required to liaise directly with clients and, from time to time, to undertake work at clients’ premises. This will involve travel to sites in the UK and possibly abroad. You will hold a very good first degree in a physical science or related numerate discipline and may well have a post-graduate qualification in an environmental discipline. Demonstrable experience, over a number of years, is also required in project management and in working on environmental issues in the nuclear industry. This experience will be in one or more of the following areas: options studies (e.g. BPEO, BPM), EIA/SEA/EMS, strategic planning, waste management, and radioactive discharges. Numerate and able to use a range of software packages, you will have experience of customer interactions and proposal preparation. A full, clean UK driving licence is also essential.
