Our success to date is based on in-depth process and engineering knowledge, applied in a practical manner to provide the best possible solutions and advice to our clients.Owing to continued growth and high demand for its services, the company is now seeking to recruit a Senior Consultant in EIA and Planning to join our expanding team based in Glasgow.

Job description

  • Leading the delivery of EIAs for renewable energy projects in the UK and worldwide.
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of environmental and planning legislation and UK regulations (England, Wales and Scotland).
  • Management of specialist EIA sub consultants.
  • Establish and maintain environmental/planning stakeholder relationships.
  • Support renewable project developments, providing appropriate input at various points.
  • Review environmental documentation and permits on behalf of clients. Evaluate potential issues.
  • Review and implement measures to maximise consenting success of projects for Clients.
  • Budget and programme management.
  • Input to business development, including managing proposals and leads.
  • Liaison with clients and potential clients.

Other duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Attending client and site meetings and projects outside the UK.
  • Develop and apply knowledge of European/local country environmental and planning legislation.
  • Providing planning and permitting advice to support renewable energy projects generally.
  • Other ad hoc activities as and when required.

Essential Criteria

Degree level educated.

  • Expertise in UK environmental and planning legislation and regulations.
  • Experience as an EIA project manager.
  • The successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability, good organisational skills are paramount.
  • You should have excellent communication skills, coupled with a flexible and proactive approach to work to thrive in this busy team.
  • Technically competent.
  • Competent PC user.

Desirable Criteria

  • Post graduate qualification in an environmental subject.
  • An interest in renewable energy and/or sustainability.
  • Experience of renewable generation projects.
  • Experience of working with both Public and private sector clients.
  • Experience of working on international EIA and environmental and social due diligence projects.

Hours: 37 hours per week. Occasional evenings to attend meetings.

Holidays: 23 days and 9 public holidays.

Contract: Permanent after 3 month probationary period.
