Description

The Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) is the statutory adviser to Government on UK and international nature conservation. EU exit poses an unprecedented opportunity to transform policy affecting the environment in the UK. To deliver such transformations, a range of evidence will need to be assimilated and analysed to develop options and make policy choices, and to implement policies at a cost that is proportionate.

The JNCC Senior Analyst will maintain an up-to-date overview of existing and emerging methods and research in analytics; working with a range of partners across the UK and more broadly to identify innovative solutions and novel approaches. They will analyse JNCC biodiversity datasets alongside those of others (for instance agricultural income, flood control measures, woodland expansion).

The post will work across JNCC’s Evidence Teams supporting terrestrial, and potentially marine aspects of the work. The post is initially for 2 years.
