Senior Engineer - Product Environmental

We currently have fantastic opportunity for a Senior Engineer - Product Environment to join BAE Systems Submarine Solutions in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing engineering tasks, or packages of work, and to provide guidance and advice in a consistent professional manner within the discipline, taking cognisance of appropriate budget, timescale and quality standards, providing leadership where required.
As a Senior Engineer - Product Environment your main responsibilities will involve:
Provide advice and guidance on product environmental issues
Coordination and execution of activities to meet the PEMS (Product Environmental Management Systems) and PEMP (Product Environmental Management Plan)
Develop and implement appropriate environmental tools to determine and facilitate evidence production and generation
Execution of DfE (Design for the Environment) activities with internal and external stakeholders and parties and support completion and tracking of information/evidence to meet requirements
Review design documentation for adequacy, advise and execute action plan for shortfalls
Gather and facilitate the collation of evidence to support the Successor Whole Boat Product Environmental Case
Liaison with internal and external parties on Product Environmental issues to achieve product environmental assurance
Review and keep abreast of environmental legislation, offer appropriate guidance to ensure compliance.
Liaison with Stakeholders on ESOH SIT and specific programme & environmental issues
Looking at what emissions the product produces
Looking at what waste is generated on board and how this is disposed of
Looking at the environmental sustainability of the product
As a Senior Engineer - Product Environment your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Degree educated - Environmental/Engineering
Experience of working within an environmental role or similar
Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems and environmental protection
Experience of looking at pollution and product generates
Excellent report writing skills
