We are looking for a senior specialist in Energy from Waste to develop capability within the business and to support both the energy and waste teams when developing strategies and energy balances.

The role principally involves advising on various types of projects, ranging from conceptual masterplanning to municipal scale plants within the UK and internationally. Any candidate for this position must have extensive knowledge of the following technologies: 

  • Anaerobic digestion
  • Pyrolysis and gasification
  • Thermal oxidation   

In addition to understanding the key characteristics of the above three technologies, candidates should also have experience of assessing waste feedstocks as a fuel source, be familiar with waste legislation and legislation related to the generation of renewable energy. The candidate will, ideally, also have knowledge and experience of:

  • Combined cooling, heat and power technology
  • Gas to liquids technology
  • Biogas utilisation in vehicles
  • Hydrogen production and fuel cells
  • Commissioning and operating Energy from Waste facilities
