You will be part of the Environmental Assessment Team, which undertakes a broad range of environmental assessment projects, including EIA, SEA, construction management and other environmental advice, for a mixture of private and public sector clients.

Current projects include environmental work on renewable energy, infrastructure and land development projects. These include wind farms, solar developments, tidal energy schemes, mixed use developments, flood defence schemes and highway schemes.

Requirements:

Owing to further success, we are now looking to recruit an Environmental / EIA Consultant to join the Environmental Assessment Team in our Cardiff Office. To be considered for a role we are seeking candidates with the following credentials:

Academic Qualifications:

•Environmental Degree
•Chartered Status or equivalent

Essential Experience:

•Demonstrable post-qualified experience of undertaking environmental assessments on a variety of projects such as renewable energy, transportation, rail, water and land development schemes.
•Experience of co-ordinating and managing EIA’s including the preparation of Scoping Reports, option/feasibility studies, preparing assessment chapters.
•A working knowledge and understanding of EIA processes and relevant UK legislation is essential, as is a basic understanding of a range of technical environmental disciplines. An understanding of a variety of project consent routes, including TWA, DCO, TCPA, is desirable
•Experience must include project management responsibilities, including commercial and risk aspects, allowing the successful candidate to take on and manage projects with minimum supervision
•Good motivation, influencing, people management and delegation skills
•Ability to think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner
•Demonstrable client care skills in securing new work in addition to existing client retention
•Excellent written skills, with good attention to detail
•A full driving licence

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be required to work on a range of projects and bids, be flexible to work across the range of disciplines that currently form the Environmental Assessment team (EIA, SEA, Landscape Architecture, Air Quality, Noise and Vibration, Ecology and Cultural Heritage). You will be responsible for managing small projects, as well as working as part of wider project teams undertaking desk studies, assisting with the delivery of technical reports, undertaking site surveys, and providing project and bid management support.

You will play a key role in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations, promoting and marketing all facets the services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines, contributing towards the achievement of the divisional business plan and to build networks within the industry.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

•Proactively managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors, quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications
•Managing commercial aspects (contract, invoicing, debt, client management etc) of selected projects or components of projects to ensure a successful result
•Liaising with the Project Manager/Director and client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project
•Maintaining an understanding of the background of the client’s business and industry to facilitate building effective and enduring relationships and consolidating both company and personal credibility in the industry
•Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H&S regulations
•Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager
