Senior EIA Consultant

My client, a leading international consulting firm specializing in ground, water and waste engineering and environmental and earth sciences is currently seeking a Senior EIA Consultant to join their team in Johannesburg.

The position is within their Environmental Services Business Unit and has a strong focus on specialist EIA service, provision to the mining industry and industrial sites.  This position is for a dynamic professional who wants to build a long-term career in a positive environment and grow his experience and knowledge base. The position is based in the Midrand office, South Africa. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities

Leading and managing large-scale EIA projects;Undertaking other environmental work e.g. audits, due diligence, etc;Attending meetings with client, authorities, and team members;Writing proposals and reports;Mentoring of junior staff members;Undertaking site visits and fieldwork (this may require periods of time working away from home/South Africa); Representing the company and presenting at workshops, conferences, etc;Taking an active role in business development.
 

Qualifications/Experience

A minimum of an M Sc in e.g. earth sciences, biology, etc

A minimum of 10 years experience on large-scale EIA projects, preferably in miningWork within other countries in AfricaAbility to speak

French/Portuguese /Swahili/other languages would be an advantage.

Computer literate

Valid Drivers Licence
