An exciting opportunity to work in our highly regarded ecology team. 

Job Description

The successful applicant will work at Senior level within the ecology team, undertaking project management, field work, reporting, mitigation design and licence applications etc. 


Requirements

Essential Requirements.

Qualified to degree level with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Full MIEEM status or equivalent.  Protected species handling and survey licences for bats and/or dormice.
Able to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a minimum of supervision. Good people and technical skills.
Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and policy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
As many sites are in remote locations, the ability to drive is essential.
Willingness to work unsociable hours.
 
Desirable Requirements.

Highly desirable

Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards this qualification.
Although the company operates a fleet of pool cars, the use of one's own transport is required from time to time and car ownership is therefore desirable.
Ecological Impact Assessment experience.

Desirable

Experience of renewable energy schemes 
Experience of coordinating and managing Environmental Impact Assessments.

Responsibilities

Project management, technical management of junior members of staff, ecological surveys, report writing and report checking.
Ecological impact assessment and mitigation design. 

The Individual

A self-motivated individual, with good communication skills, able to inspire other team members.
Good organisational skills, able to work both on their own and within a team environment, including multidisciplinary teams.
