Greenspace Ecological Solutions is an independent consultancy currently seeking a Senior Ecologist to join a company which is committed to achieving pragmatic ecological advice across a range of disciplines. 

The successful candidate will enjoy that all important balance between field and office work, whilst working on a variety of projects across a range of sectors. Working as part of a team, you will manage various projects from initial contact to completion, provide ecological advice, organise and undertake habitat and protected species surveys, produce tenders, technical reports, management plans, EPSM licenses, EIA, EcIA and BREEAM assessments.

Personal Specification:

• A minimum of four years’ experience in ecological consultancy;  • A Full Member of CIEEM; • Experience of conducting a range of ecological surveys and a good working knowledge of British fauna and flora; • Experience in the production of tenders, technical reports, method statements, management plans and in the design and implementation of cost and time efficient mitigation strategies; • Detailed working knowledge of the planning process and policies and UK / EU wildlife legislation;  • Experience of the production of EIA, EPSM licences and BREEAM/CfSH assessments; • Hold at least one Natural England EPS licence (Class 2 or higher Bat Licence desirable); • The ability to manage and deliver projects through efficient liaison and communicate clearly  with clients, third parties (NE, LPAs) and colleagues; • A degree or postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in an ecological or related subject.

The salary and job specification will be dependent on experience and skillset and in response a wide range of candidates are encouraged to apply. However you must be eligible to work in the UK/European Economic Area and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a car to use for work.
