We are looking for an experienced Ecologist with experience of Invasive or Non-Native species to join the expamnding team in our Cambridge office.

Knowledge/experience required is as follows:-

• Significant experience of applying ecological principles to a range of projects, preferably within an environmental consultancy framework
• Demonstration of project management of significant ecological assessments involving a number of environmental specialists
• Substantial experience of designing, managing and undertaking ecological assessments and/or policy studies, ideally including writing ES Ecology chapters
• Experience of protected species mitigation and legal compliance
• Substantial knowledge of ecological survey and evaluation methods as applied to a range of taxa
• Evidence of significant client liaison, contract negotiation in an environmental consultancy framework
• experience of non-native species, invasive species in particular with:
A good knowledge of Japanese Knotweed and the methods for its control
Experience in preparing Japanese Knotweed management strategies
Experience of working with contractors on site during construction projects
An interest in other invasive species
• Experience of project management desirable
• Management of sub-consultants including production of contracts/work briefs
• Effective contract administration
• In depth knowledge of environmental law, including the Habitats Directive, EU Wild Birds Directive, Habitats Regulations, EIA Directive, EIA Regulations, CRoW Act
• Demonstration of the ability to accept responsibility for own work and work of those being managed
• Demonstration of taking corporate responsibility for actions and an ability to work effectively with senior management.
