Introduction

Our client, a global multi-disciplinary are looking to expand their team with the appointment of a Senior Ecologist to be based in their Lancashire office to meet the demands of their growing project portfolio.

Surveying and working experience in the UK regulatory framework including protected species licensing

The Job

The Job:

The Senior Ecologist will become part of an experienced UK Ecology team made up of over 100 Ecologists for a well respected company in the market. Our client offer excellent career prospects, continued professional development and the opportunity to work on international projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal Ecologist’s in project delivery

  • Lead ecology surveys

  • Support business development activities

  • Plan and resource ecological field surveys

  • Mentor less experienced staff

Essential:

  • An honours degree in ecology or closely related field

  • Surveying and working experience in the UK regulatory framework including protected species licensing

  • Associate or Full member of the Chartered Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills particularly the ability to produce clear reports and presentations

  • The ability to organise and develop work with minimal supervision

  • Full current UK driving license

Desirable:

  • CEnv / CEcol , Postgraduate degree

  • An ecological specialism

  • Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) experience

  • Natural England Protected species licence(s)

  • GIS skills

  • Working knowledge of the Habitats Directive 1992 (as amended)
